The Bastide du Jas de Bouffan hosts a screening of the documentary film "Léo Marchutz - L’intemporel et l’Éphémère" (32 mins), directed by James Ruffato.
This film is the third installment in a documentary series dedicated to the German-born artist Léo Marchutz, focusing on the large-scale oil paintings created during the last ten years of his life. Following a first episode on his work as a lithographer and his experience as a Holocaust survivor, and a second highlighting his major role in introducing Paul Cezanne’s work to the general public, this new film explores his relationship with his patron and friend Fernand Pouillon, who encouraged him to return to oil painting while retaining his unique style.
