To mark European Heritage Days, the Bastide du Jas de Bouffan opens its doors after dark. Enjoy a self-guided tour of the estate before attending the video projection on the facade, "A Franco-German Tribute to Cezanne."
Evening Program:
Self-Guided & Mediated Visits (8:00 PM – 10:00 PM): Explore the Bastide at your own pace. Cultural mediators stationed throughout the tour will share the history of the site and local anecdotes. Tours available in French and English.
Video Mapping Projection (9:00 PM – 10:00 PM):
Designed by artists Júlia Lema Barros and René Schäfer, this immersive installation brings Cezanne’s paintings to life through video projections, light displays, and soundscapes. Projected onto the Bastide’s facade, it invites visitors to rediscover the artist’s work through a contemporary sensory experience.
The visual journey is set to quotes by painter Léo Marchutz and major German thinkers, highlighting the Franco-German dimension of this artistic heritage (audio available in French and German).
Partners: Presented by the Centre Franco-Allemand de Provence, in partnership with the City of Aix-en-Provence, the Goethe-Institut, and the Association Héritage du peintre Léo Marchutz, with support from the Franco-German Citizen Fund.
