Terms and Conditions for Individual and Group Tickets for the Cezanne Sites in the City of Aix-en-Provence
These general terms and conditions of the Sites de Cezanne apply to all booking made on the website or at the ticket offices of the Bastide du Jas de Bouffan, located at 4 route de Valcros in Aix-en-Provence, and the Atelier des Lauves, located at 13 avenue Paul Cezanne in Aix-en-Provence (also collectively referred to as the “Cezanne sites”). They may be consulted at the ticket office of the Bastide du Jas de Bouffan and the Atelier des Lauves, or on the website www.cezanne-en-provence.com
Visitors are responsible for informing themselves of the visit and payment conditions applicable on the day of their visit.
ARTICLE 1 – ACCEPTANCE OF THESE GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE
Any booking to visit the Sites de Cezanne, whether through the website or at the ticket offices implies the visitor’s unconditional acceptance of these general terms and conditions, which are available at the sites’ reception desks and on the website www.cezanne-en-provence.com
The visitor acknowledges having read these general terms and conditions before confirming their order.
The Cezanne Sites reserve the right to adapt or modify these terms and conditions at any time. In the event of modification, the terms and conditions in force on the date the booking is placed shall apply.
Prices
The price of each ticket is indicated in euros, all taxes included. Ticket prices are not subject to VAT.
Prices are set annually by deliberation of the municipal council and are publicly available. They are listed on the website and can also be consulted at the entrance of both sites. Prices may be modified at any time by decision of the Aix-en-Provence City Council. However, such modifications will not affect orders already paid for.
ARTICLE 2 – PURCHASE OF INDIVIDUAL TICKETS AND SERVICES FOR THE BASTIDE DU JAS DE BOUFFAN AND THE ATELIER DES LAUVES
The access and reservation conditions mentioned below apply exclusively to individual tickets sold at the reception desks of the Cezanne sites or on the website www.cezanne-en-provence.com. The Cezanne sites cannot be held responsible for group tickets resold by the Tourist Office of Aix-en-Provence.
Visitors are responsible for informing themselves of the visiting conditions and internal regulations applicable on the day of the visit, either on the website or as displayed at the entrance to the sites.Tickets are non-modifiable, non-refundable, and non-transferable. No reservation can be made by email or telephone.
Advance booking is strongly recommended. Only a reservation guarantees access to the sites.
Anyone wishing to enter the sites must hold a ticket, regardless of age or ticket category (except children under 6 months old). In the case of free or reduced admission, proof of eligibility must be presented at the entrance.
Access will be denied if the visitor cannot provide proof justifying free or reduced admission, and the ticket will neither be exchanged nor refunded.
Use of Audioguide equipments
Self-guided tours may be taken using a video guide. Visitors may download the application directly onto their smartphone after purchasing tickets online or at the site reception desks. Visitors who do not wish to use their own device may rent an audio guide on site for €2.
Visitors must use audio guides and the application responsibly and without causing visual or sound disturbances. Devices rented on site must only be used for their intended purpose. They must never be damaged with liquid or any other substance, thrown, dropped, or deliberately damaged.
Each device is equipped with a security tag and must be returned at the end of the visit.
Entrance ticket are delivered as followed :
- Online, through the website when online tickets are available. The ticket gives access to the site at a specific time for either a guided, thorough or self-guided visit.
- On site, at the ticket offices of the Bastide du Jas de Bouffan and the Atelier des Lauves. These ticket offices only sell remaining available tickets. Each site manages its own ticket sales. It is not possible to purchase on one of both sites an entrance ticket for the other one.
Services included with your entrance ticket
Each ticket allows one single entry on the selected date and time to either the Bastide du Jas de Bouffan or the Atelier des Lauves.
As visitor capacity is limited, the ticket entitles the visitor, depending on the option chosen, to:
- a one-hour self-guided tour,
- a 1.5-hour guided tour in French or English,
- a 2-hour thorough guided tour in French,
The visitor will also have unrestricted access to the parks of the relevant site and the souvenir shops located in each reception building. The shop is also accessible without any entrance ticket.
In addition, garden-only tickets (excluding access to the interiors of the monuments) are sold exclusively at the reception desks of the Cezanne sites.
These tickets are intended exclusively for individual visitors. Therefore, groups purchasing such tickets outside the Tourist Office booking service may not receive commentary from their accompanying guide, even if the guide is officially certified.
Prices and reservations
Full-price, reduced-price, and free tickets are available both online and at the ticket counters.
Booking a visit time slot is mandatory for all tickets, including free tickets. Visitors must arrive on the date and at the time indicated on their ticket. In case of late arrival, access may be refused for safety reasons, without any exchange or refund.
Ticket and Service Sales at the Site de Cezanne Ticket offices
All services defined in the current pricing deliberation may be sold at the ticket counters: admission tickets, guided tours, events, etc.
Accepted payment methods on site are exclusively:
- cash,
- Credit cards (Carte Bleue, Visa, Eurocard/Mastercard); American Express is not accepted.
Payment by cheque or bank transfer is not accepted at the site reception desks.
Reduced price applies to :
- Children aged from 13 to 17 (with proof of identity),
- Students aged from 18 to 25 (with student card).
Free entrance applies to :
- children up to 12 years old (with proof of identity),
- Job seekers (with proof issued within the last 3 months by France travail),
- ICOM and ICOMOS professional card holders,
- Holders of disability or mobility inclusion cards and their companions,
- Certified tour guides (with proof of their professional card),
- French Ministry of Culture card holders (valid for 2 people),
- Press card holders,
- Recipients of French social welfare, minimum old-age pensions, disability benefits, or RSA benefits (with CAF documentation),
- Members of “Culture du Cœur” (with prior reservation through the association).
Terms of online booking
Anyone wishing to visit the sites is invited to book its ticket online, regardless of their ticket category (full price, reduced price, or free admission). The website offers several price categories depending on the type of visit and the visitor’s status. Details are provided in the pricing deliberation and in the description of each offer.
The total displayed at checkout is the final and definitive price paid by the visitor.
Online booking procedure
- The visitor is invited to go to www.cezanne-en-provence.com and read all rules relating to the access to the Sites de Cezanne. Then, click on the booking section and select the site they want to visit.
- The visitor chooses the type of visit they wish : self-guided tour, guided tour in French or English, thorough tour in French.
- They select the number of tickets and the applicable price category for each visitor (full price, reduced price, or free admission). Once all tickets have been selected, visitors choose an available date and time slot. Dates or times not displayed are either sold out or unavailable online. Visitors must ensure they select a time slot they can attend.
- Visitors create a customer account by entering a valid email address, where they will receive order confirmation and PDF ticket files, as well as a password. Creating an account requires providing the information necessary to process the order: surname, first name, phone number, email and postal address.
- The booking details are displayed. After reviewing the order and accepting these terms and conditions, the visitor proceeds to secure online payment by entering their bank card details (name on card, card number, expiry date, and security code).
- Payment is accepted only in euros and only by bank card (see accepted cards above). Visitors guarantee that they are authorized to use the payment method provided. The visitor’s bank account is charged as soon as the payment transaction is approved by the payment center.
Securing payment
The website www.cezanne-en-provence.com uses SSL encryption technology to secure transactions. All encryption and security procedures have been reinforced to best protect sensitive payment data. Bank card numbers are not stored on the servers. Payments are secured through the 3D Secure protocol. If the payment center refuses the transaction, the order is automatically cancelled.
Any payment made by the visitor constitutes irrevocable acceptance of the booking and its conditions. Once the payment is confirmed, the visitor receives an email receipt. This document cannot be used as an admission ticket.
When the payment is completed, the booking reservation becomes final and binding. In accordance with Article L.221-28-12 of the French Consumer Code, visitors do not benefit from a withdrawal right, as this does not apply to leisure services.
Once the purchase confirmation has been sent via PayFIP, the visitor receives an email containing the following information:
- the main information of the ticket(s),
- the reservation reference number,
- the total order amount,
- an attached document containing the ticket(s).
Tickets purchased on the website may either be printed (subject to printing conditions) or displayed on a digital device such as a smartphone, provided the ticket remains clearly readable. Visitors are responsible for ensuring that the contact information provided during their booking is correct.
Ticket printing
The visitor can choose to:
- print the ticket(s) received as PDF attachments in the confirmation email immediately after purchase validation. Printed tickets are only valid if printed on blank paper, double-sided, without altering the print size, in portrait A4 format, using either a laser or inkjet printer. A good print quality is required. For optical scanning purposes, the code printed on the ticket must be clear and legible. Before placing an order, visitors must ensure that they have the necessary hardware and software configuration required for printing;
- Show the ticket(s) on an electronic device. In the event of optical scanning, the code displayed on the ticket must be clear and readable on screen. The device display must be legible, capable of zooming, unaltered, and sufficiently bright for scanning.
As soon as the transaction is completed, visitor may request an invoice either at the reception desks of the Cezanne sites or by email to the relevant site: bastidedecezanne@mairie-aixenprovence.fr or atelierdeslauves@mairie-aixenprovence.fr
The request must include the visitor’s name, order number, and purchase date.
Booking changes or cancellation of the visitor
Tickets purchased either on site or online are non-modifiable, non-refundable, and non-transferable.
No refund will be granted if the visitor fails to attend on the date and time indicated on the ticket, to present proof of entitlement for reduced or free admission, if he loses or gets his tickets stolen, if booking errors are made by the visitor or if he arrives after the departure of his tour.
Personal data and right of access
The website may collect personal information in the following cases:
- Statistics on visitor numbers and origin.
- Effective management of visits and user experience.
Purchasing tickets constitutes automatic consent for the collection of personal data and its use by the Sites de Cezanne Team.
All personal information collected (contact details, email addresses) constitute confidential data intended exclusively for the Sites de Cezanne Team and shall not be shared with any third party nor used for any other purpose whatsoever.
You may oppose the processing of your personal data, except if such processing is required by law or where this right to oppose has been waived by an express provision in the document authorizing the processing.
The processing of personal data is carried out in accordance with Law No. 78-17 of January 6, 1978, as amended, known as the “Data Protection Act,” and Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of April 27, 2016, on the protection of personal data (GDPR). Data is retained for the period strictly necessary for the purposes for which it is collected. In accordance with the regulations in force, the user has the right to access, rectify, erase, oppose and restrict the processing of their data.

ARTICLE 3 – CITY PASS HOLDERS
Visitors who purchased a “City Pass” from the Municipal Tourist Office have access to the Sites de Cezanne including :
- self-guided tour and garden access,
- or for garden access only.
However, they remain subject to the same access conditions and are required to book a specific date and time slot either on the website or at the reception desks of the Sites de Cezanne Sites by selecting the free admission option. Booking is mandatory for each City Pass holder, as well as for any accompanying persons entitled to free admission. City Pass holders who were unable to reserve a visit to the Cezanne Sites are nevertheless entitled to access the gardens of both sites upon presentation of their City Pass at the reception desk.
ARTICLE 4 – GROUP TICKETS PURCHASE
Group visits are possible at both sites under certain conditions.
Guided tours must be conducted either by:
- an external certified tour guide holding a professional guide card,
- a guide from the Tourist Office (prior authorization for speaking rights is required free of charge).
External guides who are not part of the sites’ mediation team must comply with the timing, schedule, and route imposed within the sites.
The visit duration inside the monuments (Pavillion and Bastide) is limited to one hour. If desired, the visit may continue in the outdoor areas (parks and gardens) without time restriction.
The minimum number required for a group is 15 people.
In accordance with safety regulations, group time slots are limited to a maximum of 19 people and benefit from a group rate valid for up to 19 participants. Optional services (such as commentary by an external guide or other services) are not included in the group rate.
Groups exceeding 19 people may be split into smaller groups in order to comply with capacity limits.
4.1 Booking procedure
The group organizer may follow the dedicated link on the website, or contact the reservation service by email at sites@aixenprovencetourism.com or by phone at +33 (0)4 42 16 00 25 / +33 (0)4 42 16 11 65 (information only).
No group reservation can be purchased on the website www.cezanne-en-provence.com, at the reception desks of the Cezanne Sites, or by phone through the Tourist Office reception desk.
No payment can be made on site.
Payment must be made by bank transfer to the Tourist Office at least 15 days before the visit and according to the Tourist Office payment procedures. Only payment confirms the reservation.
Groups accompanied by a certified guide are required to book through the Tourist Office reservation service: sites@aixenprovencetourism.com
If a time slot is available, the reservation department registers the booking and sends a quotation or pro forma invoice specifying the booking confirmation and payment conditions.
If the service is configured as a group booking with the group price, and was handled by the tourist office group, it will not appear on the website.
Any additional participant joining the group on the day of the visit must pay directly at the ticket office of the Cezanne Sites.
Likewise, the Sites de Cezanne keeps specific time slots for groups; any group arriving without prior reservation with the tourist office will not benefit from the group rate or services, even if it is accompanied by a licensed guide. Such groups may be split across several time slots depending on the availability and will not be granted the right to speak.
4.2 Ticket printing
Tickets are issued and handed to the group leader, who is responsible for distributing them to all participants on the day of the visit.
4.3 The visit
All groups are requested to arrive at least 15 minutes before the departure time in order to complete formalities at the ticket office of the Sites de Cezanne.
If the group arrives later than the indicated time, a grace period of up to 15 minutes after the scheduled time may be granted at the discretion of the site manager. However, this will automatically reduce the time available for the visit inside the monuments. Any delay exceeding 15 minutes after the scheduled time will result in cancellation of the visit, and the amount charged to the group will neither be exchanged nor refunded.
ARTICLE 5 – CONDITIONS OF USE OF THE TICKETS
All tickets are systematically verified at the entrance of each site. Because the ticket will be scanned by our team, the code displayed on the ticket must be clear and legible. Only perfectly readable tickets will be accepted.Each ticket must display a specific visit date and time. Any attempt to visit on a different date or time than the one indicated on the ticket will automatically invalid the ticket. Any ticket that is partially printed, damaged, or illegible will not be accepted. Each ticket gives access to only one ticket, is strictly personal, and may not be resold to a third party. The ticket must be kept until the end of the visit and may be checked by our team at any time. The Cezanne Sites reserve the right to refuse entry if the ticket does not comply with one of the conditions stated above.
Visits are also subject to the internal regulations and visitor rules of the Bastide du Jas de Bouffan and the Atelier des Lauves, also available on the website www.cezanne-en-provence.com and at the reception desk of each site.
ARTICLE 6 – FRAUDULENT USE – LOSS – THEFT OF TICKETS
6.1 Fraudulent use of tickets
Les Sites de Cezanne may refuse the entry to any visitor holding a ticket with an expired date and time, or a barcode or QR code that has already been scanned or is past its expiry date. Only the first person to present a ticket will be admitted to the visit and will be presumed to be the legitimate holder of the ticket.
6.2 Loss and theft of tickets
The Sites de Cezanne accept no liability in the event of the loss or theft of the ticket(s) issued, including within the site grounds.
ARTICLE 7 – TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR REFUNDS AND EXCHANGES OF TICKETS
7.1 Withdrawal periods
In accordance with Article L.221-28 12° of the French Consumer Code, the sale of admission tickets to a museum or related services is treated as the provision of leisure services and does not give rise to any right to a withdrawal period.
7.2 Exchanges and cancellations
Individual visitors:
Tickets purchased are non-refundable, non-returnable and non-exchangeable, except in the event of cancellation by the sites (conditions set out in Article 7.3).
No refund will be granted to individual visitors entitled to a reduced rate who have paid the full price due to failure to present proof of eligibility, whether they purchased their ticket online or at the site reception.
No refund will be granted following errors made by the consumer when booking, whether online or at the site reception (error regarding date, price, service, etc.).
No refund or access to the site will be granted to a visitor in possession of an individual ticket purchased by a third party or on an online booking site other than www.cezanne-en-Provence.com. The establishments accept no liability in this regard.
Groups:
No refunds, returns or exchanges will be granted to groups of visitors who have booked their visit by email, except in the event of cancellation by the sites (conditions set out in Article 7.3).
No refunds will be granted to visitors in a group entitled to free admission who have paid the group rate following failure to present proof of eligibility.
No refund will be granted following booking errors made by the group representative (error regarding date, price, service, etc.).
No refund or access to the site will be granted to a group in possession of tickets purchased from a non-partner site; the sites accept no liability in this regard.
In the event of cancellation by les sites de Cezanne of the service indicated on the ticket.
In the event of cancellation due to an unplanned closure caused by a technical issue (excluding cases of force majeure), the visitor may be offered the option to reschedule their visit or, failing that, a refund of the ticket.
Refunds will be processed on site by the sites upon presentation of proof of cancellation provided by the Bastide du Jas de Bouffan or the Atelier des Lauves, or, in the case of an online booking, by crediting the credit card via Payfip.
ARTICLE 8. RESPONSIBILITY
8.1 The Services
The Bastide du Jas de Bouffan and the Atelier des Lauves cannot be held responsible under any circumstances for any failure or unsuitable performance of the services associated with the tickets where such failure is attributable to the individual visitor, the group, the unavoidable actions of a third party or a force majeure case defined in Article 9 of these General Terms and Conditions of Sale.
Visitors shall be held responsible for any direct or indirect damage caused during their presence at the SItes de Cezanne, whether involving staff members, other visitors, or the artworks.
The Sites de Cezanne disclaim all responsibility for damages of any kind caused by visitors during their presence at one of the sites or during a visit (indoors or outdoors) organized by the Bastide du Jas de Bouffan or the Atelier des Lauves.
8.2 Ticket production
Except in case of malfunction of the website cezanne-en-provence.com , the Sites de Cezanne cannot be held responsible for any anomalies occurring during the booking process, downloading, or tickets printing resulting from the actions of the visitor, the unforeseeable and unavoidable actions of a third party unrelated to the service, or a case of force majeure as defined in Article 9 of these General Terms and Conditions of Sale.
ARTICLE 9. FORCE MAJEURE
The Bastide du Jas de Bouffan and the Atelier des Lauves shall not be held responsible for any failure of their services resulting from a force majeure case as recognized by the case law of the French courts.
ARTICLE 10. EVIDENCE AND STORAGE
Computerized records stored in the IT systems of the Sites de Cezanne or any of their service providers shall be considered proof of the contract, its date and the payments made under reasonable security conditions.
Orders and invoices are archived on a reliable and durable medium in order to constitute a faithful copy in accordance with applicable regulations.
ARTICLE 11. PERSONAL DATA AND COOKIES
The website and the Sites de Cezanne may collect personal information in the following cases:
- Statistics on visitor numbers and origin.

ARTICLE 12. ENTIRE AGREEMENT
The visitor and the Sites de Cezanne acknowledge that these General Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between them. If, for any reason, one of the clauses of these terms and conditions is declared unenforceable, it shall be deemed unwritten without invalidating the remaining provisions or affecting the validity of the other clauses.
ARTICLE 13. DISAGREEMENT RESOLUTION
These General Terms and Conditions of Sale are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution shall be sought before any legal action is brought before the Administrative Court of Marseille.
