atelier
GRANET MUSEUM
Place Saint-Jean de Malte

The completely renovated Granet museum opens to the public its permanent collections in their entirety, considered among the most complete of the museums of the region in France. From the birth of Aix up to the XX century, these collections offer proof of Aix's and Provence's roles as crossroads of exchange between the south and the north of Europe. They allow audiences to follow the evolution of representations and graphic innovations over the course of centuries. The exhibits-in-progress that are open during the beginning of the year (the Flemish and Dutch schools - Rubens, Rembrandt - Italian works, and a sculpture gallery), will be completed in the spring, in particular with the addition of works from French school from the XVII to the XX centuries, the school of Provence, Marius Granet, Cézanne, and, finally, the treasure “From Cézanne to Giacometti”, which includes the great names of modern art: Picasso, Matisse, Klee, Leger, Giacometti, Mondrian, Nicolas de Staël, and others.
